Dear WES Families,
Happy New Year! We hope all our WES families enjoyed a wonderful holiday and winter break filled with rest, joy, and time spent with friends and family. We are kicking off 2025 with an exciting month for the PTO, as January marks Read-a-thon month—our biggest fundraiser of the school year. The funds raised through the Read-a-thon help support field trips, school-wide events, assemblies, students in need, and so much more. We truly couldn’t do it without your continued support.
Read-a-thon sign-up begins on Friday, January 23, when students can create their Read-a-thon profiles and start collecting donations. Students will begin logging their reading minutes daily from Monday, January 26 through February 8. Please be on the lookout for additional Read-a-thon information coming home in your child’s backpack.
Don’t forget to skip the cooking and support WES PTO on January 14th at this month’s Restaurant Night at Burger Local! Dine in or take out anytime between 11:00 AM and 9:00 PM, mention the flyer, and 15% of your purchase will be donated back to WES. It’s an easy way to support our school and a local business—thank you for helping make a difference!
Coming up…
The PTO is also excited to host a Parents Night Out event, Panic at the Prom, a fun and interactive murder mystery evening. This event will take place on Friday, February 6, from 7:00 to 10:00 PM at Downtown Glory. Attendees can enjoy food, drinks, and a silent auction. Be sure to scan the event flyer for complete details, including ticket packages and pricing.
Finally, mark your calendars for our Together We’re Glowing Sock Hop Dance. Students are invited to grab a glow stick and dance the night away—it’s going to be golden! The dance will be held on Friday, February 13, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the WES Gym. Snacks will be available for $1.00, cash only.
