OPEN PTO BOARD & CHAIR POSITIONS
🚨 Volunteers Needed: PTO Board & Chair Positions for 2026–2027 🚨
The Williamsburg PTO is in urgent need of volunteers — not only for upcoming events, but also for PTO Board and Chair positions for the 2026–2027 school year. Planning is already underway, and without volunteers, some events may be scaled back or cancelled.
The Williamsburg PTO is a collaborative group of parents, caregivers, teachers, and staff working together to support our students, strengthen our school community, and create memorable experiences for our kids. Field trips, assemblies, family events, staff appreciation, and enrichment opportunities don’t happen without dedicated volunteers stepping up.
💙 Why This Matters
Strong schools are built on strong community involvement — and we truly can’t do this without you. Even a small amount of time makes a big impact on our students’ experience at WES.
📌 Open Positions & Shadow Opportunities
We are offering both open positions and shadow positions:
Open Positions require a volunteer(s) to take on full responsibility for a role, event, or term for the 2026-2027 school year. Co-chairing any position is highly encouraged to share the workload!
Shadow Positions allow volunteers to learn alongside a current chair, with the expectation of taking over full responsibility for the 2027–2028 school year. This is a great way to ease in, learn the ropes, and feel confident stepping into leadership.
Whether you can lead, support, or learn, there is a role for you.
👉 Please click the link below to view all open positions and shadow opportunities.
Every volunteer helps keep our PTO — and our events — alive and thriving.
Thank you for supporting our students, staff, and school community. ❤️

Teacher Appreciation Week (VOLUNTEERS NEEDED)
🎉 Teacher Appreciation Week at WES 🍎
Teacher Appreciation Week is a special time each year when we come together to celebrate the incredible educators who make a difference in our children’s lives every single day. Held annually during the first full week of May, this week is dedicated to honoring the teachers and staff who work tirelessly to keep the flame of learning alive through their selfless dedication and unwavering support.
Last year, we had some hootin’ and hollerin’ fun as we showed our appreciation for the amazing WES staff! The week was filled with celebration, including a delicious breakfast 🥞, a catered lunch 🥗, sweet treats and desserts 🍪, raffle prizes 🎁, thoughtful thank-you gifts, and so much more. Thanks to the generosity of over 30 local donors, it was truly an unforgettable week.
Williamsburg is a wonderful place to be, and that’s largely because of the dedicated teachers and staff who pour their time, energy, and heart ❤️ into our students every day.
This year, we’re off to the races with a Kentucky Derby theme! 🏇🌹
We’re excited to celebrate our amazing teachers and staff and would love your help to make it a winning week.
💐 Student Participation Due 5/1:
Students can show their appreciation by coloring and decorating the attached “Derby Rose” and writing a note of thanks to any WES teacher or staff member. These handmade notes truly mean so much—teachers cherish these thoughtful, personal gestures and often keep them for years to come.
Whether you can lend a hand with setup, donations, or serving, we truly appreciate your support in making our teachers feel celebrated. Please click the volunteer link to sign up and get involved!
Volunteer Opportunities (5/4–5/8):
Monday 5/4: Dawn at the Downs Breakfast
Tuesday 5/5: “Trotting to Get Those Tuesday Snacks”
Wednesday 5/6: “Winsday” Catered Lunch
Thursday 5/7: “Thurby” Gift Day
Friday 5/8: “Kentucky Oaks” Dessert Day
As they say at the Derby, “And they’re off!”—and we’re off to honor the incredible dedication, care, and heart our teachers bring every single day.
Thank you for helping us make this a fun and memorable week! 🏆
Tie Dye Extravaganza (volunteers needed)
In preparation for Dr. Dye's retirement celebration, WES and the PTO are having tie dye sessions with each class during the 1st two weeks of May. Please be sure to read the following points to ensure your student is ready for some tie dye fun! We hope that all students can wear their shirts at our WES Block Party on Thursday, May 28th as we celebrate Dr. Dye's retirement.
Each student will have an opportunity to tie dye a shirt during the 1st two weeks of May. Be sure to have your child "dress for a mess" on their classes' day. Look for the schedule in upcoming NewsBeats.
When choosing a shirt size, we recommend sizing UP, for longevity in wear and to account for any shrinking. Please note: If you do not fill out the below form by 4/22 for your student, they will receive a Youth Large shirt to tie dye. FORM is no longer linked as it is outdated.
We have taken steps to ensure safety with regards to latex allergies. The gloves and rubber bands used by the students will be LATEX FREE.
Parent Volunteers are needed for our extravaganza to be a success. Please check out our tie dye session time slot below and let us know how you can help.
Please note that all expenses for this school-wide project are being covered by the WES PTO. If you would like to contribute to the PTO to help cover the estimated cost of $5/shirt, please do so by sending in cash, a check made out to "Williamsburg Elementary School PTO", or send via Zelle to wptotreas@gmail.com.

We need volunteers to help with setup and cleanup to make this event a success. If you're able to lend a hand, your support would be greatly appreciated! 🙌
