Patriot Post - April Edition is here…

Hello Spring, are you finally here? It’s April, and that means the countdown to the end of the school year has officially begun. The days are getting longer, the weather is starting to warm up, and WES is full of energy as we head into a fun and busy final stretch.

The Williamsburg PTO is still in need of volunteers, not only for the exciting events coming up this spring, but also for the 2026–2027 PTO Board. Planning for next year is already underway, and without enough support, some of our favorite events may need to be scaled back or even canceled. Our PTO is made up of parents, caregivers, teachers, and staff who are all dedicated to supporting students and building a strong school community. We truly cannot do this without you, and even a small commitment can make a meaningful difference. Please take a moment to explore volunteer opportunities and consider getting involved.

This month brings several events to look forward to, starting withBrain Bowl. This fun and engaging after-school trivia challenge is always a favorite among students. Be sure to check out the details and sign up soon, as registration forms are due by April 8th.

Don’t forget to support the PTO by participating in our next restaurant night. Join us at California Pizza Kitchen on April 22nd and be sure to mention WES when placing your order so that a portion of the proceeds can go back to support our school.

One of the most anticipated events of the year, the WES Sports Finale, is quickly approaching on May 22nd. Students will be grouped into small teams and rotate through a variety of fun and active stations. We will need many volunteers to help run games, assist with refreshments, and guide student groups throughout the event. Volunteer sign-ups will be available in May, so be sure to check the PTO website for more information.

We are also excited to celebrate our fifth graders at the annual Fifth Grade Picnic, which will take place at the Persinger Center on June 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., rain or shine. All parents are welcome to attend, but please note that no siblings or additional guests are permitted. Be sure to check the volunteer sign-up using the QR code provided.

Finally, please save the date for our end-of-the-year block party and a special retirement celebration for Dr. Dye. More details will be shared in early May. See details here!

It is shaping up to be a fun and memorable month, and we are grateful for your continued support. Together, we can make these final months of the school year meaningful and enjoyable for all of our students.
